Born in Seoul in 1977, Hwan Cho is an inter-disciplinary artist practicing in painting, sculpture, mixed media, and calligrpahy. His background in graphic design and architecture has influenced much of his sculptural works which enable him to explore the relationship between art and space. He attended the City College of New York where he gained a Bachelor of Architecture. He then went on to receive a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Fountainebleau in Paris. He currently lives and works in New York City.
