Born in Seoul, artist/designer and composer.
Designing and producing furniture as a hobby is what turned Jang Min Seung into a furniture designer in his twenties. However, as he enjoyed music more than his major in fine art, he was active in a rock band during his early years and participated in over twenty films as a music coordinator and producer. In collaboration with Jung Jaeil, whom Jang met during his music activities, Jang has been experimenting with the capabilities of music as visual art. In the meanwhile, Jang has shown his work through solo exhibitions, Su Seong Seep Kyung (Art+Lounge Dibang, 2010,) and A Multi-Culture (One and J. Gallery, 2010), which are about observing the cultural context of objects such as architecture or furniture, while maintaining concerns about the design language.
