Jesse Mc Lin is a contemporary American artist born in California. Based in New York for 10 years he now lives and works in Hong Kong. His work has developed along a distinctive path shaped both by art and design and his practice in a wealth of mediums – trained as an installation sculptor specialized in ceramics, Mc Lin is also a teacher, a designer, and co-founder of design brand Latitude 22N.
The timeless need for individuals to find a sense of social, physical and psychological belonging, particularly the inherent conflicts and paradoxes found in the act of searching for a sense of place are essential to the investigations in Mc Lin’s work.
