Karen Mead is a Hong Kong born artist and printmaker. She has spent the last 12 years in the UK where she completed her BA in Fine Art and an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking. Although her recent work favoured a combination of lino cut and photography she has begun to draw or paint onto these surfaces. Returning to Hong Kong in 2012 her previous themes of solitude and isolation have been overtaken by observations on the flux and flow of the Hong Kong scene. This has resulted in work that is spatially congested and incorporates multiple viewpoints, transparency and layering.
