SAM BARON is born in France in 1976. He works and lives between Lisbon, Paris and Treviso (Italy). He currently works as a designer and is Head of the Design department of Fabrica, Benetton communication research centre. Sam Baron raises questions through his objects or furniture pieces. His perennial rereading and reinterpretations of traditional know-how-handcraft or industrial- shrewdly interrogate on the utility of todays material productions, subtly sounding out the value, usage, and the very existence of new objects. In 2010 Sam Baron was selected as 1 of the 10 designer of the next decade by Philippe Starck for Maison&Objet-Now! Fair. He is creative director of the Collector issue of the 20years of the magazine Colors (Silver Cube Award in 2010) and opens Favorita in Porto (Portugal) his first interior Design Hotel (in collaboration with the architect P.Sottomayor).
