Wong Perngfey was born in Malaysia in 1974. Perngfey was the recipient of a Scholarship Award at Malaysian Institute of Art in 1996. Graduated from Malaysian Institute of Art in 1998, Perngfey currently living and working in Beijing, China.
In 2002, Perngfey was awarded an artist residency at Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia. The Alami II Alami II - Science Inspired Arts Camp, UNESCO International Year of Mountain in Sabah, Malaysia. The event was sponsored by UNESCO, National Art Gallery, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Sabah Parks.
