GRIMM Grows Across London with New St James’s Gallery Opening This Autumn
By Elaine YJ Zheng – 18 July 2025, London

GRIMM will open a new gallery space in St James’s this autumn, timed to coincide with October’s Frieze Week.

The gallery’s new London location will occupy the ground and lower floors of a historic late Victorian building at 43a Duke Street.

The move marks a new chapter for GRIMM, which is currently showing Matthias Franz’s exhibition claim no easy victories (until 19 July 2025) at its Mayfair gallery at 2 Bourdon Street.

Founder Jorg Grimm said he was proud to be moving to this iconic neighbourhood that ‘for centuries has been a historical base for the display of art’.

‘Following the gallery’s establishment in London in 2022, our expansion is a logical progression, and in line with the gallery’s goal—to provide the best possible platform for our artists, many of them based in the U.K,’ he said.

The Duke Street location will debut with a solo exhibition of new paintings by German painter Matthias Weischer, who is known for domestic interiors and landscapes that interrogate perceptions of painterly space.

Founded in 2005, GRIMM represents 37 international artists across its spaces in Amsterdam, New York, and London. Its roster includes Francesca Mollett, Anthony Cudahy, and Hettie Inniss, reflecting its focus on nurturing artistic careers. —[O]
