Lehmann Maupin‘s new seasonal gallery will make its home in Circolo, a non-profit space led by Beirut-born architect and collector Nicole Saikalis Bay.
Located on 48 Via della Spiga near Giardini Indro Montanelli, Circolo has previously collaborated with international partners including the design collective Mandalaki, Milan-based Clima Gallery, and London’s greengrassi and Corvi-Mora.
The inaugural exhibition of Lehmann Maupin Milan will open on 12 April with new works by Nari Ward, Mandy El-Sayegh, Hernan Bas, Todd Gray, Billy Childish, Loriel Beltrán, Alex Prager, and Catherine Opie, among others.
It coincides with gallery artists’ activities in Italy, including Nari Ward’s major retrospective exhibition at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan and Kim Yun Shin‘s participation in the main exhibition of the 60th Venice Biennale, titled Foreigners Everywhere. —[O]
