Denmark-born, New York-based Thomas Bangsted is a landscape photographer whose work evokes the sublime in nature. Bangsted attended the Glasgow School of Art in 2004 and later received a Postgraduate Diplmoa of FIne Art from Goldsmiths College in London. In 2007 he gained his Masters of Fine Arts from Yale University. He has held solo exhibitions since 2005 in Copenhagen galleries and in 2014 held his first solo exhibition at Marc Straus in New York. His photographs have been included in numerous group exhibitions since 2000. He has been awarded the Newbery Medal (2004) from The Glasgow School of Art, the Prins Joachims & Prinsesse Alexandras Fond (2005), The Alice Kimball English Traveling Fellowship (2007), and the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Photography (2010).
