Born in the UK in 1983, but of Chinese descent, Lee received a BA in Fine Art Painting from the University of Leeds in 2006.

Using traditional Asian mediums such as ink and rice paper, his practice aims to question the capacity of still life and portraiture to convey meaning.
The works are constructs of the artists imagination and memory and focus on the sensations of the subject, or object, rather than relying on visual mimesis. Lee’s paintings contain contrary themes, with life, death, beauty and decay co-existing in his works. Therefore the paintings are paradoxical in nature and are ultimately a meditation on the futility and absurdity of the human condition. This is poignantly revealed in the tension between the fragility of the rice paper and his often-violent paint application.
Lee’s recent solo exhibitions including Nihilphilia, Cock n Bull Gallery, London (2014), Visitations, 9 Club Row Gallery, London (2013) and You were born with a light between your eyes, I was born to answer to your sun, Gallery Nine 5, New York (2011). Selected group exhibitions include Winter Open, the Florence Trust, London (2015), Spring Fever, Saatchi Gallery, London (2014) and The Other Art Fair, London (2012). The artist has recently completed a year long residency at the Florence Trust, London.
Christine Park Gallery will present Lee's works at Art Central Hong Kong in March 2016, as well as his solo exhibition in its London Gallery in 2016.
