VICKEN PARSONS
Vicken Parsons is a British artist who was born in 1957 and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. She makes small, intimate paintings on board using thin layers of oil paint. Her subjects are usually of landscapes or interiors, some remembered and others imagined.
She has had solo exhibitions at Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge; New Art Centre, Roche Court, Salisbury; and Tate St Ives. She has also taken part in group exhibitions at Foundling Museum, London; Turner Contemporary, Margate; Tate Modern, London; the Royal Academy, London; the ICA, London; Southampton City Art Gallery and Kunsthalle Mannheim, Germany.
Her work is in a number of important public collections including Government Art Collection, Tate, Arts Council Collection and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. Parsons has had two solo exhibitions at the Alan Cristea Gallery. She lives and works in London.
