Boutique Fair Post-Fair to Launch in L.A.
By Elaine YJ Zheng – 9 January 2025, Los Angeles

A new boutique fair, Post-Fair, will launch during Frieze Los Angeles this February. Held inside a 1938 post office building, the fair will introduce a more affordable alternative in the city, joining the ranks of Felix Art Fair, L.A. Art Show, and SPRING/BREAK Art Show.

The fair’s founder Chris Sharp conceived Post-Fair to be ‘much more collegial’ than your typical mega-fair. Sharp, who is the founder of his eponymous L.A. gallery, is also behind Place des Vosges, a boutique Paris fair inaugurated in 2024 to coincide with Art Basel.

Boasting an open-plan configuration, the fair will charge 6,000 USD for galleries and 2,000 USD for project spaces. In comparison, booth fees at Frieze Los Angeles—the more affordable of the Frieze fairs with its tiered pricing structure—range from 8,200–76,000 USD, while Felix Art Fair’s fees start at around 10,000 USD. Sharp told ArtNews that there will be ‘less pressure to sell’.

From 20 to 22 February, Post-Fair will welcome 29 galleries and project spaces. Participants include established global dealers like Sprüth Magers and Tanya Leighton Gallery, alongside U.S. galleries like P·P·O·W Gallery (New York) and Michael Benevento (L.A.), in addition to representation from Milan, Tokyo, and Toronto. —[O]
