Artists Matthew Barney, Jeremy Deller, Lubaina Himid, Anicka Yi, Rirkrit Tiravanija, and Kara Walker will all take part in an online festival arranged by Frieze from February 17 to 19.
The digital festival will also feature an acoustic set by singer-songwriter Arlo Parks and, unexpectedly, cocktail mixing videos by restaurants including Dante NYC, Frankies 457 Spuntino, Locanda Locatelli, Rita's, and Roberta's.
Entitled Anniversary Sessions, the event marks 30 years since Frieze magazine was launched in 1991. In addition to publishing the magazine, the company now holds art fairs in London, New York, and Los Angeles.
'We're excited to begin our 30th anniversary celebrations by bringing together a group of artists and writers who have shaped the past three decades – and who continue to define the arts today,' said Frieze's editor-in-chief Andrew Durbin and deputy editor Amy Sherlock in a press release.
Frieze also announced a new three-tier membership programme for its magazine content, digital talks, and viewing rooms.
'We are all living in a situation right now that requires us to find new ways to connect, and prompts questions about how communities can, and should, be defined,' said Matt Holt, Frieze's commercial director. —[O]
