The Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) today announced the lineup for their new music festival, Volume.
Grammy-award-winning R&B singer Solange will headline the 17-day event, which takes place from 22 September to 8 October.
Altogether, 27 artists will perform, including Sampa The Great, Mount Eerie, and Sonya Holowell.
In addition to live bands and performers, the festival will include new scores commissioned for the festival, moving image works, and dance performances.
‘While the visual arts have traditionally been the Art Gallery’s focus, our expansion, through the Sydney Modern Project, has created an exceptional opportunity for us to extend our programming as part of our new curatorial narrative to include more cutting-edge live music, film, and performance,’ said AGNSW director Michael Brand.
AGNSW said it has recorded more than a million visits since completing the Sydney Modern Project on 3 December 2022.
Tickets for Volume cost AU $55–199. Pre-sales will be available from 10am on Tuesday 18 July at volume.sydney.
