Opening at David Zwirner’s Paris location in September 2026, this group exhibition will celebrate the legacy of the gallery space at 108, rue Vieille du Temple, in Le Marais, and its history as the former site of Galerie Yvon Lambert. Marking forty years since the inauguration of Lambert’s gallery at the same address on September 20, 1986, the exhibition at David Zwirner will highlight the resonances and overlaps between the two gallery programs and will showcase the artist-centric approach that both gallerists have shared. Featuring works by a diverse range of international artists, the presentation will illustrate the critical cross-pollination and artistic exchanges that have occurred between Paris and New York—a transatlantic dialogue that formed the fabric of Lambert’s legendary program.
As Lambert has recalled, “To open a gallery you just need a space and the best artists. The thing that interests me has always been the true artists, the ones who bring something genuinely new.”2
While the exhibition reflects on the history of 108, rue Vieille du Temple, the project initiated by Yvon Lambert and carried forward with his daughter Ève continues to evolve at 14, rue des Filles du Calvaire. Bringing together a bookstore, publishing house, and exhibition space, the venue represents the evolution of an unwavering commitment to artists and contemporary art.
