About Aichi Triennale

The 6th edition of Aichi Triennale will showcase 60 artists from 22 countries and territories, each chosen for their connection to the theme A Time Between Ashes and Roses. While most participating artists are from Japan, there is also strong representation from other regions, including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Oceania, and Europe.

The theme of the triennial draws inspiration from Adonis’ 1970 poem, A Time Between Ashes and Roses. Reflecting the poem’s sentiments and visions, the exhibition envisions a future shaped by geological perspectives of time, moving beyond immediate national or territorial viewpoints to shed light on the current divides between humanity and the environment.
