Artists and Chefs Make a Meal Out of Art in Singapore This March
By Elaine YJ Zheng – 28 February 2025, Singapore

Michelin-starred chefs and visual artists are teaming up in Singapore this March in a series of events combining art and gastronomy.

Curator Joyce Toh said the experiential events, collectively titled The Feast, invite guests ‘to savour the rich interplays between art and gastronomy’, adding that feasts have historically been ‘a celebration of life and coming together of people’.

Highlights include An Affair of Eight Hands, where artist and researcher Yanyun Chen and chefs Marvas Ng from restaurant Path and Jack Allibone of Mandala Club will encourage guests to use their hands and reflect on the motif of service.

Meanwhile, on 13 March Singapore artist Samuel Xun hosts an evening of conversation on identity and culture with the whiskey and chocolate featured in his sculptural work.

Artist Grace Tan will then host a mixology session at Native on 16 March, focusing rice as a fermentation ingredient.

Next up, husband and wife duo Ken and Julia Yonetani will speak on art and sustainability at Michelin Green Star restaurant Fiz on 21 March, alongside their salt installations.

Concluding the month on 23 March is the unveiling a new cinematic interior by designer Matteo Cibic and artists Spencer Hansen and Wawi Navarroza at Firangi Superstar.

A complementary exhibition will open on 66 Club Street, featuring work by all artists.

The Feast is the first of three cultural pop-ups by organisation 74tharts, founded by Aspen Art Fair co-founder and director Becca Hoffman.

The next chapters are set to open in Marseille (La Mer, 27 June–6 July 2025) and Aspen during Aspen Art Fair (29 July–2 August 2025). —[O]
