Hyundai Motor Company announces the Hyundai Blue Prize+ 2025 open call, welcoming exhibition proposals for Hyundai Motorstudio Beijing from emerging curators through 8 June 2025.
The call for submissions is open to curators or curatorial collectives around the world who are currently working in a country within Asia; have ancestral or cultural ties to Asia; or actively engaging with themes relevant to the region through their curatorial practice. Exhibition proposals must include a curatorial statement, a list of artworks, a preliminary exhibition design, a budget plan, and a framework for public programmes.
This year’s international jury panel includes Jochen Eisenbrand (Chief Curator, Vitra Design Museum); Carol K. Huh (Associate Curator of Contemporary Asian Art, National Museum of Asian Art, Smithsonian Institution); Frances Morris (former Director of Tate Modern and Distinguished Visiting Professor, Ewha Womans University); Christiane Paul (Curator of Digital Art, Whitney Museum of American Art); and Philip Tinari (Director, UCCA Center for Contemporary Art).
Five finalists will each receive one-on-one mentorship from the jury members, a research tour in China, and a $4,000 grant to develop a final exhibition proposal. Two final awardees will be announced at the end of 2025 and will present their exhibitions at Hyundai Motorstudio Beijing with up to 800,000 RMB (approximately 110,000 USD) for exhibition production and implementation.
