Sculpture takes centre-stage this year, with a strong curatorial focus on large-scale and site-specific works. Transforming Messeplatz on an unprecedented scale is Katharina Grosse’s CHOIR (2025), a dramatic, immersive spray-painted installation lasting only the fair’s duration, while Art Basel Unlimited—this year curated by Giovanni Carmine—showcases projects that transcend the traditional fair booths.
Art Basel 2025 also sees the introduction of the Premiere sector, highlighting ultra-contemporary works created within the last five years. Ten galleries, including first-time exhibitors Edel Assanti (London), Kosaku Kanechika (Tokyo), and Sweetwater (Berlin), each present up to three artists.
