Independent New York 2026
14–17 May 2026Independent New York is a distinctive art fair that champions a curated and collaborative model, standing apart from traditional art fair formats. Launched in 2010, it was founded with the aim of fostering deeper connections between galleries, artists, and audiences through a more thoughtful and flexible approach to exhibition-making.
Held each spring at Spring Studios in Tribeca, Independent New York presents a diverse range of contemporary art from both established and emerging galleries around the world. With a focus on experimental and critically engaged practices, the fair offers an intimate and accessible environment for collectors, curators, and art professionals to discover compelling new work.
In addition to its spring edition, Independent also presents Independent 20th Century each fall, dedicated to spotlighting under-recognised artists and significant movements of the last century. Together, both editions reflect Independent’s mission to broaden the canon and expand conversations around contemporary and historical art.
