David Zwirner is pleased to announce David Zwirner’s Hong Kong gallery will be open to the public, by appointment only, beginning May 5, 2020.
On view will be works by Suzan Frecon, Josh Smith, Wolfgang Tillmans, Luc Tuymans, Lisa Yuskavage, and many others. David Zwirner Hong Kong has been closed since the end of January due to the global health crisis. The reopening marks a significant moment as the other David Zwirner global locations—New York, London, Paris—remain temporarily closed. David Zwirner opened its Hong Kong gallery in 2017, which is under the directorship of Leo Xu, a Senior Director at David Zwirner.
The gallery is located in the H Queen’s building in Central Hong Kong, and to request an appointment, please contact: [email protected].
To coincide with the reopening of the Hong Kong gallery, Lìxià, a bilingual online viewing room available in English and Chinese, will launch on May 5, 2020. Lìxià refers to the 7th solar term according to the traditional East Asian calendars, which divide a year into 24 solar terms, and signifies the beginning of summer. The online-only exhibition will also include reflections on the city of Hong Kong from the gallery’s artists who have exhibited or are scheduled to exhibit there.
