Singapore Galleries to Present Fortnight-Long ‘Art Weekend’
Timed to coincide with the Formula 1 Grand Prix and Singapore Design Week, the event is distinct from the existing Art Week in January.

Singapore will launch a new gallery weekend in September.
Organised by the Art Galleries Association Singapore (AGAS), Singapore Art Gallery Weekend will take place at galleries and other venues across the city from 15 September to 1 October 2023.
'We envisioned Gallery Weekend in September 2023 as another chapter in Singapore's arts calendar, offering an alternative rhythm to the popular Art Week in January', said Audrey Yeo, President of AGAS and founder of Yeo Workshop.
Singapore Art Week, which is helmed by the National Arts Council, next takes place from 19 to 28 January 2024. It coincides with art fair ART SG from 19 to 21 January 2024.
'Unlike Art Week, which revolves around the art fair, Gallery Weekend invites art enthusiasts to embrace a decentralised experience, exploring galleries and events on foot and immersing themselves in the myriad visual and cultural experiences throughout our city,' Yeo said.
Singapore Art Weekend's programme is being promoted under a series of hashtags.
#GalleryHopping is the name given to exhibitions at galleries, institutions, and other venues.
Featured artists will include Nanyang School artist Cheong Soo Pieng, Hazel Lim, and Natee Utarit. The Private Museum (TPM) will inaugurate its new building with a show by Kumari Nahappan, and The Arts House will exhibit art upcycled from floodlights used to illuminate the Formula 1 Night Race.
#LivingWithArt offers public tours of private collections, #TheArtLifeStyle is an NFT token that gives access to VIP activities and other perks, and the hashtag #TalkingAboutArt is used to describe Singapore Art Gallery Weekend's art talks programme. —[O]
