PODO Museum Presents Group Exhibition on Coexistence in Jeju Island
By PODO Museum – 25 September 2025, Jeju Island

Organised by PODO Museum, Jeju Island, We, Such Fragile Beings (9 August 2025–8 August 2026) features new and existing works by 13 artists that address empathy, understanding, and coexistence on Earth. The exhibition title draws inspiration from the ‘Pale Blue Dot’, a photograph of Earth in space famously captured by Voyager 1 in 1990 that depicts our home planet as a small speck of dust. From this iconic image emerges the question: ‘Why do we, such fragile beings in the vast cosmos, persist in conflict?’

The exhibition explores the question across three galleries and two thematic spaces with works by Mona Hatoum, Jenny Holzer, Liza Lou, Annabel Daou, Sumi Kanazawa, Maarten Baas, Sarah Sze, Lee Wan, Boo Jihyun, Kim Hanyoung, Song Dong, Sho Shibuya, and Robert Montgomery. Highlights include Hatoum’s Remains to be Seen (2019), an installation of concrete pieces hung by steel reinforcement bars, and Holzer’s Cursed (2022), featuring 296 lead and copper tablets with polarising social media posts, as well as Lee Wan’s stunning wall installation of 560 clocks in Proper Time (2025).

PODO Museum opened in 2021 with a commitment to furthering ecological coexistence and voices of marginalised communities. The museum is located in Andeok-meon, Seogwipo City.
