Pierre Huyghe is a producer of spectacular and memorable enigmas, with works that function more like mirages than as objects. 'I've never felt that my work has to be confined to the white cube of the museum or gallery world.'-Raymond Pettibon
This viewing room highlights ten newly created works by Pettibon depicting snow leopards, several of which were featured in his recent collaboration with Artistic Director Kim Jones on the Dior Men's Winter 2019 collection.
A longtime admirer of Pettibon's text works and zoological drawings, Jones was especially drawn to Pettibon's sketches of leopards-a pattern with a long history at the Dior house. 'The inspiration comes from the artworks of Raymond, from the more romantic part of his work, and tying that into the loves of Monsieur Dior,' says Jones.
Never seen before, this collection of drawings celebrates the collaboration and coincides with the artist's inaugural solo exhibition at David Zwirner Paris.
