The group show CRIVO, Luisa Strina’s perspective brings together at Casa Bradesco, in São Paulo, works by over 30 key artists from the contemporary scene who define the trajectory of gallery owner Luisa Strina throughout her five decades of activity.
Curated by Marcello Dantas and Kiki Mazzucchelli, the exhibition surveys conceptual art from the 1970s to the present day, featuring Brazilian and international artists whose careers were nurtured or propelled by Strina. The selection includes large-scale installations, many of which have been presented only once in important institutional exhibitions.
By bringing together works from different historical moments in a single space, CRIVO enables viewers to trace how seminal ideas in Brazilian conceptual art have evolved and gained new dimensions over time. Concepts explored in the 1970s and 1980s—such as institutional critique, experimentation with new mediums, and debates around cultural identity—reemerge in contemporary works, reinterpreted yet retaining a connective thread across generations. This historical perspective lends the exhibition particular significance: beyond being a tribute to individuals, CRIVO reveals the enduring vitality of an artistic movement while prompting critical reflection on what transforms and what endures.

The history of the oldest contemporary art gallery in São Paulo, Luisa Strina, is mixed with the professional career path of Luisa Strina herself. In 1970 Luisa began as an art marchant for friends and artists such as Wesley Duke Lee, Fajardo, Baravelli, Jose Resende and Babinski. In 1974 she opened Galeria Luisa Strina at Baravelli´s old studio with a well defined strategy: to show the work of national and international artists, both here in Brazil and abroad.
