About Frieze London 2025

Frieze Art Fair London, an exclusive and influential contemporary art fair, is a gathering of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries and living artists. It was founded in 2003 by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, the creators of the international contemporary art magazine Frieze. It is currently under the direction of Eva Langret. The fair, a unique and privileged experience, takes place each October in The Regent’s Park, in the heart of London.

The Frieze Art Fair represents a diverse range of artists, from the emerging to the iconic, creating an exciting and intriguing atmosphere. A team of world-leading independent curators advises on feature sections, bringing forth performance-based work and ambitious presentations by emerging galleries.

Frieze London coincides with its sister fair, Frieze Masters. This fair delivers a unique view of the relationship between historical art and contemporary practice. It showcases pre-2000 works, whereas Frieze London presents work created mainly post-2000. The two events both operate in Regent’s Park alongside Frieze Sculpture. This free display of major outdoor works runs from mid-September until mid-November, allowing general audiences to view unique, modern sculptures in the open air.

For the past few years, over 60,000 visitors have attended Frieze London and Frieze Masters combined. Visitors included those interested in the art world, such as curators, artists, collectors, gallerists, critics, and the general public. Some visit as first-time art collectors, while others view the fair more as an exhibition, enjoying the experience as a cultural day out.Since its inception in 2012, Frieze London has expanded to incorporate several international editions. These include the American editions of Frieze New York and Los Angeles as well as Frieze Seoul in South Korea. These expansions allow for more creations from various galleries to be exhibited multiple times throughout the year, expanding the reach of contemporary fine art.
